REVOLVE, DISSOLVE & EVOLVE

YOGA INSTRUCTOR
“Not Christian or Jew or Muslim, not Hindu, Buddhist, sufi, or zen. Not any religion or cultural system. I am not from the East or the West, not out of the ocean or up from the ground, not natural or ethereal, not composed of elements at all. I do not exist, am not an entity in this world or the next, did not descend from Adam or Eve or any origin story. My place is placeless, a trace of the traceless. Neither body or soul. I belong to the beloved, have seen the two worlds as one and that one call to and know, first, last, outer, inner, only that breath breathing human being.” -Rumi

“My best advice for any practitioner is to find the pleasure and the enjoyment of the embodied process. Revel in the aliveness you feel. Fall in love with your breath. Let go of perfectionism and find the deliciousness of this moment.” -Meredith Hogan

MAGIC MOMENTS. Interview 6

DESCRIBE, FOR OUR LISTENERS, SOMETHING THAT YOU ARE PROUD OF?

I have been teaching yoga since 2003 and have had so many exquisite experiences in the medicine space it’s difficult to select one.

I would say the most rewarding experience is seeing a student come in for class and feeling that they are heavy with stress or worry and

<cont.> maybe holding back tears, and through an embrace and then the class that follows, giving us all the permission to honor and move the emotion in the sanctity of the space and never to apologize for their tears.

Tears are sacred. Mother Ocean is moving through our eyes. She is emptying us and cleansing. I believe the world would be infinitely more beautiful and authentic if we could see the great beauty that lies letting things go without being sorry.

WHAT’S YOUR YOGA ADVICE, FOR OUR LISTENERS?

My best advice for any practitioner is to find the pleasure and the enjoyment of the embodied process. Revel in the aliveness you feel. Fall in love with your breath. Let go of perfectionism and find the deliciousness of this moment.

SHARE THREE QUICK TIPS?

1. Savor your breath. 2. Feel the pleasure of practice. 3. Stay Curious.
