MAGIC MOMENTS. Interview

DESCRIBE, FOR OUR LISTENERS, SOMETHING THAT YOU ARE PROUD OF?

Being from the UK, I had only ever taught there and, other than my training in India, had only practiced there.  Moving to the USA, I was unsure how my ‘style’ would translate here, if people would be responsive and basically whether I’d be able to teach here or not.  A few years in and I feel so proud to have found my Yoga tribe, to be continuing to spread the joy of Yoga and to know that the understanding, appreciation and  practice of Yoga truly is universal.

WHAT’S YOUR YOGA ADVICE, FOR OUR LISTENERS?

Breath! – don’t think about anything else, at least to start with. Deep, long breaths for the whole practice. It’ll help everything!

Don’t try so hard – when we put effort in, often we tense and this is opposite to what we want in Yoga. Give yourself a break and ease into each posture as softly as you can.

SHARE THREE QUICK TIPS?

1) Meditate – Yoga is awesome, but when coupled with meditation it’s life-changing. 2) Don’t worry about your flexibility – it really isn’t about touching your toes, I promise. 3) Have fun – the more fun you can have, the more open and playful you are, the greater the benefits of the practice.
